Hello bloggers,

We have read so many books together this year! The Graveyard Book, Wild Boy, Wonder, not to mention all the books you have read in guided reading!

Which have been your favorite and why? Would you recommend any of these books to anyone, if so who? What would you like to read next year?

  1. My favourite book this year has to be Wonder because I enjoyed it so much. Also I enjoyed Stig of the Dump which we read in guided reading. I would recommend Stig of the Dump to everyone who is fascinated about history. Next year, I would like to read Agent 21, which is about a spy whose parents died and gets taken by a government agency. He has exiting adventures and make evil enemies. This year I have enjoyed all of the books I have read, I hope next year will be just like this.

  2. My favourite book this year has been Wonder because it shows how you should never give up and always feel remorse of what you have done.
I would recommend this book to everyone who is feeling down and likes action books.
I would like to carry on the book Auggie and me as it shows the book from different perspectives also it shows that Julian was actually named after a boy with a deformed pair of legs and he also got taken away from his family to go to the gas chambers and died.

  3. Over year 5 (my favorite year so far) we read a lot of books my favorite was Wonder because it taught the people in our class ( the children who need it, naming no names) learnt a lesson. It was also very interesting and very emotional.

  4. This year my favorite book we have read together as a class is Wonder because it is a really interesting. I also like it because it has different point of views from different characters and we know whats happening in their lives. I recommend this book to people who like books by R.J Placio. In year 6 I would like to read more books by this amazing author. We have also started reading Auggie and Me so I would like to finish the book in year 6. Overall all the books we have read in year 5 was amazing and enjoyable.

  5. I liked all the books we read this year. But I specifically liked Once. I enjoyed it because it was very emotional. The characters were described very well. I really liked Zelda, because she was annoying at first, but she really just ended up being a favourite of mine. I wonder what happens in the books after that book. Morris Gleitzman is one of my favourite authors. I guess he has learnt a lot about the Second World War.
    By Misha.

  6. My favourite year was when we read Wild Boy and Wonder. I liked Wild Boy because the adventures they had was fun. The main characters were Sir Oswald, Wild Boy, Clarissa, and The Showman. I also liked Wonder because when Granmere was telling Julian about Tourteau and how he saved her life from the Nazis and then he sadly died. I would recommend this book to whoever has heard about these two amazing books and would like to get to read the book. I would give both books 10 out of 10 because it is brilliant.

  7. Year 5 has been an amazing year especially the books! The best book this year that I have read is revolting rhymes (read in miss smiths guided reading group)because all the poems inside make me laugh so hard! Especially Red Riding Hood which is totally not the same as the real stories. My favorite class book to read has been Wonder and the book were currently reading Auggie & Me but i still really like Wild Boy its an adventure book like Sherlock homes. Sadly we didn’t finish The Graveyard Book due to miss finding another book for us to understand more about friendship called Cloud Busting. I would recommend Bills New Frock and Revolting Rhymes to all my friends at school because there both really funny. Next year for guided reading and class story time i would like to read Worlds Worst Children version 1 and 2 which has just came out for the class story and billion air boy for guided reading because i heard that there both really funny! This year i loved reading all of the books and i hope there’s more enjoyable books in the future!

  8. My favourite book was Wonder because I learnt a lesson that even where some is deformed or not good it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be friends with then. They might be talented and good at things. As well, my other favourite is Wild Boy because he went through many adventures with Clarissa and they went throughout London. They solved many mystery like who killed someone and everyone thought it was Wild Boy but it was Sir Oswald. The book ended in a catastrophe when Oswald jumped off the London Bridge and died. I looked forward to be reading more of Wonder . To finish the story of Julian, Charlotte and Pluto. I didn’t enjoy The Graveyard Book because it had a lot of killing and not for a child’s age like our age. Children might gat nightmares like what happened to me.

  9. My favorite book this year was Wonder. It was very interesting and had lots of chapters. The book was very emotional and had some very important precepts at the start of every chapter. Some of the precepts were hard to understand but some were meaningful and i was able to understand them.I would recommend the book to anyone but especially to someone that is having a hard time at school or with friends. In Year 6 i would like to read something similar to the book Wonder but something more emotional and with pictures. The reason I want pictures is because i find it hard to understand a book when the book does not have pictures.

  10. In year 5 I loved reading all the books in the book corner because it is a majical area full of books to read. I addition to this the book corner has helped me to achieve my goal to be able to be good at comprehension. Also al of my classmates and teachers have taught me to do my best of my ability. My favourite book is all about planets cause it tells all I need to know on planets and my favourite planet is Uranus.

  11. My favourite book this year has been wild boy so I wanted to read other books based on the same type of thing. Also I liked wonder, this is a story about a young boy with a deformed face and is normally bullied. At the start he is home tough then he goes to school. I recommend this book to people who like to find out what it is like to be deformed.

  12. I have loved reading all the books this year but my favourite out of all of my them was Wonder. Wonder is a book about a boy called August and he has a deformed face. He has been homeschooled all his life. So now his parents have made him go to school and he’s really scared. This book is my favourite because all, well most of the people, are really kind and that shows that even if you have a deformed face ten you can still make friends with people. If someone asked me to recommend this book, I would recommend it to 7 and over. Next year, I would like to read Trash.

  13. My faviourite book that we have read is probably Wonder because this book can teach other people to learn how to be kind to other
I would recommened this book to one of my family members so that they can learn how to be even nicer and so that my cozun can learn how to read chapter books even more other things.Next Year the book I would like to read in year 6 is probably one of the Roald Dahl books because he writes alot of children books.

  14. Wonder was my favourite because it is a really funny book and you also get to see different point of views! I would recommend this book to everyone because Wonder is a really funny book that everyone would enjoy it. My favourite character in Wonder is Julian because he is now good but when he was a bully, he was still funny. Next year I would like to carry on reading Auggie and me because I am enjoying it so far. My favourite guided reading book was Stig of Dump even though I didn’t read it from the beginging. My favourite part was when Stig ate the cigaretee!

  15. It is hard to choose a favourite book because they are all so awesome! However, my top two favourites were Wild Boy and Wonder. I like Wild Boy because it is action-packed and also Wild Boy is very good at detecting. I liked Wonder because it is a heart-warming tale about friendship and belonging. In Guided Reading, my favourite book was Stig of the Dump because Stig was very funny e.g. he ate cigarettes. I would recommend these books to my friend Amelie, who doesn’t go to this school, because I’m sure she would like them as she is quite a tomboy and she is really kind, so she would care about the bullying in Wonder and she would really care about August.

  16. My favorite book in this year was “Wonder”, because this book could even teach the bullies in our class how to be guilty and start to say more nice things to the people who is getting bullied. I also like that how Auggie was getting bullied when he joined the Beecher Prep school but at the end of 5th grade August was very popular.
Next year, I want to keep reading a book called “Auggie and Me”, because me and my class is reading that book and it is very interesting, because this book is like the next big chapter after ‘Wonder’. I would like to recommend ‘Wonder’ from Yr 3 to Yr 6, because this book is very happy, sad, upsetting, weird, funny and more (a lot more words to describe this book). If you are wondering why did i not recommended this book to Yr 1 and Yr 2 is because they do not understand a lot of confusing words and it is too weird and confusing to them too. In addition, I would want to meet the author of the book ‘Wonder’, because then he can sign my book at home (my book at home is ‘Auggie and me’, I bought it). After when we read the book I wanted to read next year, called ‘Auggie and Me’, I would like to read any funny books.
